Terms of use

The plain-English deal for using our servers and this website. By playing or signing in, you agree to these terms.

Last updated 14 October 2026

The service

golly.gg runs community game servers and this website for free, as a hobby. We work hard to keep everything online and fair, but we can't promise it will always be available, and servers can be restarted, changed, wiped or retired.

Your behaviour

You agree to follow our rules. Staff can warn, kick or ban anyone who breaks them, or who otherwise harms the community, on our servers, website and Discord.

Your account

You sign in with Steam, so keep your Steam account secure. One person, one account: you're responsible for what happens on yours. You also have to follow Steam's and each game's own terms.

Coins and rewards

  • Coins are a community points system. They have no real-world value and can't be bought, sold, traded, transferred or exchanged for money.
  • Rewards bought with coins are in-game only and may be lost when a character dies or a server is wiped.
  • We can change how coins are earned and what they buy, and correct balances after bugs. Coins gained by cheating, exploits, alt accounts or invite abuse will be removed.
  • If we close a server or golly.gg itself, coins and rewards end with it.

Things you create

Names, chat and builds you make on our servers stay yours, but you let us show them on our servers, website and Discord (for example on leaderboards or in screenshots). Don't post anything illegal or that you don't have the right to share.

Games and trademarks

golly.gg is an independent community. We're not affiliated with or endorsed by Valve, The Indie Stone, Bohemia Interactive or any game publisher. Game names belong to their owners. Mods belong to their authors and are used under their terms.

Liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for lost progress, items, coins or any indirect loss. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be limited.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version, and big changes are announced on Discord. Questions? Ask on Discord. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
